About this website
please note that no requests on edibilty of any fungi described on these pages or elswhere on the site will be answered
this is due to the fact that many fungi are poisionous, with some being fatally so,
so, if you want to eat fungi, then a trip to your local supermarket is the safest way to do so !
this site is a record of fungi found in Clumber Park,
Clumber Park is a National Trust property in Nottinghamshire
for more details about Clumber Park see this link http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-vh/w-visits/w-findaplace/w-clumber_park-2.htm
the fungi described on the website are the ones i have found to date,
but there are many more species that i have not yet found, or been able to id correctly as yet,
any new finds will be added to the site as and when i find them,
if you think that there are mistakes with any of my id's please let me know so i can correct them (see contact page)
many of the species have been subject to recent reclassification and name changes,
but the more knowledgeable visitors will notice that many of the species shown still use the old names
but, as most viewers will still be using books that have not got this updated information, the old names have been used here,
for anyone wanting the latest information, please see these links ,

many of the pictures shown are of low quality, as they were taken in the earlier period of my interest in fungi,
and so will be replaced by better quality pictures as (if) and when those species are found again,
there is a small forum on the site, that is open to anyone, where you can post topics on any aspect of fungi,
or post pictures of your finds in the gallery, they need not be from Clumber :)
everyone is welcome to make use of it.
this website is not connected to the National Trust in any way, other than being an NT member and user of the park itself,
if you plan on visiting the park on a regular basis, membership of the NT is to be recommended, as it gives a great saving on the entrance/parking fees
